Colly, the Devon boy

The Alpine Cashmere Association imported some cashmere bucks and goats from Lesley Prior, Devon (UK). Colly, one of the males, reached our home at the end of July. It was a long trip for all of them, including multiple veterinary checkups and analyses. Our goats were awaiting Colly for a long time.

Have a look at the hole picture story. Photos taken from Cécile Aschwanden, Tamara Henn, Lesley Prior and Stephan Wagner.

During the summer time, we graze some miles from our stables, in the rocky slopes of Säntis mountain. There are no fences preventing us to get the best herbs available. The real freedom, but no buck at all.

During a summer storm we were listening a promise, that we will get soon a primary buck, a really nice one, far from north.

What we did not know: In the United Kingdom, Colly is prepared to travel to Central Europe. A Lorry brings him and the other cashmere goats and bucks to the Swiss quarantine station. The trumpets of Jericho, left of the lorry, announced the arrival.

Goats and dog realise what happened. Were he is? He must be somewhere down the valley. We have to go home to attend him.

The final party. Here he is. Let us have a closer look. Yes, he it is, what we were expecting for several years. All hail in the Swiss Alps. Happy kidding on New Year's Day.
